As part of our commitment to trading environmentally we supply products that have been certified by the Fairtrade Foundation and the Rainforest Alliance. We are also part of the save a cup scheme, which helps to recycle used plastic cups and minimise waste.
FAIRTRADE FOUNDATION
The Fairtrade Foundation is a non profit organisation that licenses the Fairtrade mark on products. The mark provides a consumer guarantee that the products have been produced within internationally agreed Fairtrade standards. The Fairtrade Foundation transforms trade structures and helps to contribute to the sustainable development for marginalised producers, workers and communities.
SAVE A CUP
This industry led scheme has been established to collect for free the millions of plastic cups used in the UK every week and recycle them.
Once the drink has been consumed the cup is put into a purpose built bin designed to reduce the bulk of the cups and isolate them from other general waste. The cups are transferred to clear plastic bags during the normal on-site cleaning process and stored in a convenient place ready for collection.
Save a cup make regular, free collections of the bagged cups. They then clean, flake and recycle the plastic.
RAINFOREST ALLIANCE
The Rainforest Alliance works to conserve biodiversity and ensures sustainable livelihoods by transforming land use practices, business practices and consumer behaviour. Their certified products conform to the following standards -
